Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Apple, we receive only the information you choose to share.

Content you create: We store the meal plans, components (proteins, bases, toppings, sauces), grocery lists, and images you create within the app. This data is tied to your account so you can access it across sessions.

Usage data: We may collect basic usage information such as app opens, feature interactions, and crash reports to improve the Service.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Generate AI-powered features such as ingredient suggestions and images
• Diagnose technical issues and fix bugs
• Communicate with you about the Service (only when necessary)

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Meal Planet:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting
• OpenAI — AI-powered features including ingredient suggestions and image generation. Content you submit to AI features (such as component names and ingredients) may be processed by OpenAI's API. We do not send your account information or personal data to OpenAI.
• Apple — Sign in with Apple authentication

These providers have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only as described above (with service providers necessary to operate the app) or when required by law.

Group Features

Meal Planet supports shared meal planning within groups. When you join or create a group, other group members can see the meals, components, and planned meals associated with that group. Your email address is not shared with other group members.

Data Retention

We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized or aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app's settings or by contacting us using the details below. We will process your request within 30 days.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication, and row-level security policies on our database. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

Meal Planet is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
